Our Cruising Area
We just love the west coast of Scotland and the flexibility it gives to tailor our cruising dependent on conditions and weather!
Remote & Exhilarating
Sail Badachro is based in Badachro Bay in the sheltered waters of Gairloch on The Minch. The Bay enjoys easy access to some of the most remote and beautiful sailing grounds in Europe.
Our cruising area covers the West Coast of Scotland from the Clyde, Islay, Tiree and Coll up through the Outer and Inner Hebrides and to further outposts such as St Kilda, Orkney and as far as the Shetlands.
When you combine this with the wildlife, history and heritage, stunning scenery and secluded anchorages, excellent food and great company and, of course, beautiful sailing boat you have the perfect ingredients for an unforgettable adventure.
Highlights range from the testing passage round the Mull of Kintyre, whisky distilleries of Islay, Jura and Skye, Iona’s historical abbey, Fingal’s Cave on Staffa, the Callanish Stones on Lewis, the bird life of the Shiant islands in the Minch, to rare orca pods off the coast of Shetland. These are just a few examples of the west coast treasures that await.
